Command-Line Interface

Multi-Files Rename support command-line arguments for use on the command-line, in scripts, and other automated processes.

Java Development Kit	Java Runtime Environment
java MFR "old file name prefix" "new file name prefix"	jre MFR "old file name prefix" "new file name prefix"

Example

java MFR "Image5" "Great Waterfall"

The above command will change the following files to new names:

Old Names		New Names
Image5 Image5.directory Image5.gif Image5.jpg Image5.raw Image5.thm Image5.tif Image5.txt	->	Great Waterfall Great Waterfall.directory Great Waterfall.gif Great Waterfall.jpg Great Waterfall.raw Great Waterfall.thm Great Waterfall.tif Great Waterfall.txt

Multi-Rename

The multi-rename button allows you to rename multiple files. When the button is clicked, the rename dialog opens with prefix for the old file name. Type in the prefix for the new file name:

In the case pictured above, we will rename all files beginning with "Great Waterfall" to "Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park". Such as follows:

Old Names		New Names
Great Waterfall Great Waterfall.directory Great Waterfall.gif Great Waterfall.jpg Great Waterfall.raw Great Waterfall.thm Great Waterfall.tif Great Waterfall.txt	->	Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.directory Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.gif Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.jpg Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.raw Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.thm Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.tif Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.txt

Rename

The rename button allows you to rename a single file. When the button is clicked, the rename dialog opens with the old file name. Type in the new file name:

In the case pictured above, we will rename the file "Great Waterfall.gif" to "Great Waterfall at Yellow Stone National Park.gif".

Refresh

The refresh button causes the file list to be updated. It is useful when files are changed by another program running on the system.

Options

The options dialog allows you to register this applicaton. If you have registered on our web-site, you will receive your registration information. Type in the information into the dialog and your software will be registered.

About

Displays the about dialog for this application.

Exit

The exit button closes the application and save all configuration, such as screen size and screen location.
